	Located in Southern Colorado, high in the San Juan Mountains, surrounded by the Rio Grande National Forest and San Juan Wilderness area. Lodge Headquarters(Click on image for larger view.) Our lodge (built in 1892) has a cozy turn of the century western atmosphere where you can gather with friends to share the day's adventure or just relax around the fireplace. Some supplies and fishing tackle are available in our lodge "store".
Information on Cabins & Rates Stay in comfort in our rustic 1 or 2 room log housekeeping cabins. We have 12 cabins - Fully furnished for your comfort and convenience. All have private baths and some have kitchenettes. Being an owner-operated establishment, we offer you an opportunity to share our love of the mountains and outdoors -- along with good old-fashioned hospitality. PLATORO, COLORADO was an historic mining camp established in the 1870's when silver and gold was discovered around the nearby headwaters of the Conejos River. The community derived its name from the Spanish words for silver and gold (Plata and Oro). Much of the rustic flavor of those storied times remains in many of the log cabins in the area as well as our lodge.

Fishing / Boating - Fish the nearby Conejos River & hundreds of miles of un-posted streams plus 10 miles of quality "wild trout waters". There are dozens of high-country lakes that produce excellent trophy fishing. Platoro Reservoir, just minutes away, is stocked with Browns, Rainbows, and Kokenee Salmon.

Hunting - Vast public lands afford excellent hunting for ELK and MULE DEER. Hunters are welcome for archery, black powder, and the first two rifle seasons.

Hiking / Backpacking - Dozens of trails to hike! Trails vary from an easy, day-hike to more difficult, overnight adventures into remote regions. Numerous NFS trails to streams, lakes, and Continental Divide Trail.

Backcountry Drives / Sight Seeing / Photography - Travel mountain roads that offer unparalleled beauty (Scenic Vistas, Wildlife, Fall Foliage and much more)
